Bauchi police arrest business man


Police in Bauchi State arrested a businessman named Nuru Isah for beating his 24-year-old wife, Wasila Abdulahi, to death. The couple argued over food and fruits meant for breaking the Ramadan fast. The incident happened on Saturday night in the Fadamam Mada area of Bauchi State.

According to the Bauchi State Police spokesperson, Ahmed Wakil, the incident occurred on the 3rd of February, 2025. Nuru Isah, a 50-year-old man who works at Central Market Bauchi, got into a fight with Wasila, his second wife. The argument started over how to handle the Ramadan food. Things got out of hand, and Nuru used a cane to hit Wasila until she fell unconscious. She was rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital, but doctors confirmed she had died.

Police quickly arrested Nuru after getting the report. They found the cane he allegedly used and kept it as evidence. Wasila’s body was taken to the mortuary for an autopsy. The police have started a full investigation to find out exactly what happened.

Ahmed Wakil added that the Bauchi State Police Command is determined to get justice for Wasila. The Commissioner of Police, Auwal Muhamad, promised that the police would protect people’s lives and property and make sure criminals face the law.
